呼吸英语夏令营系列报道十一（7月15日）

　　7月15日下午，2014呼吸英语夏令营闭营仪式在南门街校区多功能厅成功举行。工会主席、树人文化交流中心主任谢锡安，夏令营特聘英国外教Marie、Dom、Rachel、Amy、Elaine and her daughter、Eva，我校英语教师李巧巧、志愿者强如冰、110多位营员和60多位家长参加了闭营仪式，闭营仪式由树人文化交流中心副主任徐建主持。

　　一点整，在营员们的欢呼声和掌声中，夏令营特聘英国外教们一起走上台来。徐建老师首先带领大家一起观看了7月4日——15日的夏令营活动照片、外教上课实况视频。回眸12天的夏令营学习、活动，面对熟悉的教室、课堂学习活动、课后趣味活动等，营员们不时爆发出阵阵笑声。看到熟悉的老师上课的情形，营员们纷纷鼓掌欢呼。

　　工会主席、树人文化交流中心主任谢锡安代表学校和2014呼吸英语夏令营项目组对本次夏令营的成功闭营表示祝贺。她回顾了本次夏令营开营来的各项工作，对营员们的综合表现表示肯定，对外教老师们的辛苦而有效地工作表示感谢，对整个项目的运行情况表示满意。最后，她祝愿所有的营员们在新的学期中取得更大的进步。

　　在闭营仪式上，夏令营项目组对“十佳营员”进行了表彰。经过外教老师们精心考察推荐和夏令营项目组综合检测评估通过，奚淑雯、丁盺、汪文瀚等10位营员被评选为2014呼吸英语夏令营“十佳营员”，外教老师们当场用英文宣读了对10位营员的推荐词。工会主席、树人文化交流中心主任谢锡安和外教老师们为“十佳营员”颁发了红色营员证书。奚淑雯同学荣获唯一的一份“红色优秀营员证书”，全场响起了热烈的掌声。

　　获得优秀营员日记一等奖和二等奖的汪文瀚、奚淑雯、年大燮等三位同学也同时受到表彰，并获得奖品。夏令营项目组共收到营员中、英文日记近30篇，其中19篇已经选登在夏令营新闻中。

　　在颁奖仪式结束后，五个班级的营员们在各自外教老师的带领下做了精彩的表演，其中有英文歌曲合唱、英文戏剧表演、英文歌舞表演等。营员们的表演展示了他们12天来的学习成果和较高的英文素养。营员们在舞台上所表现出的自信、阳光，所显示出的英语水平赢得了在场所有人尤其是家长们的欢呼和阵阵掌声，令人赞叹。家长们现场就说，孩子变化太大了；参加本次夏令营，很值；活动搞得真好。

Marie’s class

1.Bill

Bill is an incredibly hard working member of the class and always tries his very best to excel in each activity. He also is conscientious and impeccably polite and always makes a positive contribution to the group. He writes English to an exceptionally high level and has made significant progress during the summer camp. He has been an asset to the class.

2 Jack.

Jack is a wonderful and a natural leader, as well as a great role model for the rest of the class. He has very good manners and is a mature, reliable and helpful individual who always applies his greatest efforts during classes. He is making brilliant progress in his English and his help and positive attitude has been greatly appreciated during the summer camp.

　　Rachel’s class

　　1.Andrew

　　Katherine is a very polite young lady who listens in class, takes notes in lessons and listens to instructions and follows them so that I do not have to ask her repeatedly. The fluency of her spoken English is excellent and she is a delight to teach and speak to as she is as eager to learn English and about English culture as she is to share the Chinese language and culture. Katherine eagerly accepted her role as Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk in the pantomime and has worked hard to learn her lines and performs her part enthusiastically in every rehearsal. She is also respectful of her classmates by being quiet when they are rehearsing their scenes.

　　2. Katherine.

　　Andrew is a very polite young man who is quiet, listens carefully in lessons and is one of the first to raise his hand answer questions. He is extremely helpful in classes as he has showed me how to use the projector as all of the labels on the buttons are in Chinese and I can neither speak nor read Chinese. On the occasion that I have explained instructions to the class two or three times and they are still struggling to understand Andrew has translated my instructions into Chinese, he has also helped his fellow students to ask questions by either translating from Chinese into English or providing the English to his fellow student. Andrew has two parts in the pantomime; Captain Hook and Buttons, he has embraced both parts enthusiastically and in every rehearsal he speaks his lines clearly and performs the two parts very differently. Andrew has also created parts of his costume for Captain Hook which includes a pirate hat and a hook. Andrew has been a delight to teach as he is as eager to learn about English culture and to speak English as he is to share the Chinese culture and language.

　　Dom’s class

　　I have chosen Sally as the best student in my class. She has worked hard consistently, listened to all instructions been enthusiastic and helped where necessary. She has been a pleasure to teach.

　　My second star pupil is Leo. He has always put in 100% effort through the camp. He has listened hard and has improved every day with his work. He has worked well in a team and as an individual.

　　I would like to award this prize to Tim not only for his work in class, but also for his willingness to use English at every opportunity. He has tried harder than every other student to communicate with the foreign teachers in English asking many questions about our lives, country, and culture. Every break time, I can find him at my desk with many questions. His curiosity and openness is a delight!

　　2. Ivy

　　At first Ivy seemed like a very shy and quiet member of our class , but she has proved to be very dedicated girl and model student.

　　She is able to use English freely for her age and always completes all work, whether to be spoken or written to the highest level possible.

　　She’s been a pleasure to teach and I hope she can continue her hard work!
