【学生活动】Learn English, See the World—Make your travel book

The students in Class 1, Grade 6 have learned about some interesting countries in the world recently. Before and after the lessons, they found out much about those countries through various means.

The students knew the cute koalas in Australia, the mysterious Stonehenge in the UK, the colorful Yellowstone National Park in the US, the towering 101 Taipei Building in China, and the magnificent Niagara Falls in Canada before. But now, if being asked, the students will be glad to tell you the reason why cute koalas move slowly and the unsolved mysteries on Stonehenge as one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments dating back over 4,300 years. Also, they will show you numerous, precious wild animals and plants living in Yellowstone National Park. Besides, what  you can enjoy in 101 Taipei Building is now quite easy for the students and they will introduce more details.

Sharing information makes one happier and stronger. Thus, the students made their own particular travel books and showed them in class on 27th April.

(From Tao Gongyue) London is the capital city of the UK. It is often rainy there. The weather is always changeable. There are many famous places, for example, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Big Ben and Tower Bridge. You can have delicious bacon, sausages, baked beans and mushrooms for breakfast. And, their specific afternoon tea is worth trying. As a perfect example of the British traditional culture, red phone boxes are everywhere in London. I will go to visit London one day in the future.

(From Jin Yanyu) Toronto is a beautiful city. It is cold and snowy in winter there. There are so many interesting places in Toronto. You will see the splendid Niagara Falls, the CN Tower and the old Casa Loma Castle. On a sunny day, you can have a great visit around the city by street car or ferry. Have a taste of their delicious hamburgers, beef, salad, and sandwiches when you feel hungry.

(From Wu Wendong) The Kingdom of the Netherlands is located in the west of Europe. It lies between Germany and Belgium. Netherlands covers an area of 41,000 square kilometers and has a population of nearly 17 million. It is a very fair and free country, but first of all, you need to have a lot of money! It is famous for its windmills. There are plenty of windmills there. The tulips there are also well-known.

Actually, More and more students have realized that to pass the exams is not the only reason of English learning. The purpose of learning a language is to communicate, which requires the exchange of ideas and information. That will help our students learn more about our world.
